Making Financial Decisions Simple

Helping Canadians Build Confident Financial Futures

I believe every person deserves to understand their money and feel confident about their financial future. Through education, transparency, and evidence-based planning, I help reduce the complexities around money for people in Ontario. Less complex means less stress and more confidence.

Typical Clients I Serve

Individuals and couples that have between $100,000 to $500,000 each in investable assets, usually in RRSP’s and TFSA’s. They typically have felt underserved by other advisors and the banks. They do not have a financial plan and their advisor didn’t offer to build one for them. The advisor assigned to them by the institution changes frequently and is hard to reach. They don’t understand why they are invested the way they are and don’t know how much they are paying in fees. Many are in this situation because they have solid pensions but have done little personal planning or the majority of their wealth is tied up in real estate.

Planning First

We need to know where you are and where you're going before making decisions. Every person, family, and business owner has different values, goals, experiences, and circumstances. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to your financial life.

Simple Investment Philosophy

Invest in low-cost, typically passive, and evidence-based solutions. As Warren Buffett said, "Don't invest in what you don't understand." My clients understand what they're investing in and why, allowing us to focus on saving, spending, cashflow, taxes, and behaviour.

Risk Management

We all think we're invincible until life reminds us otherwise. Proper insurance and risk planning can't prevent difficult situations, but they can prevent a difficult situation from becoming a financial catastrophe.

Why Risk Management Matters to Me

In December 2018, I woke up and had no feeling on the right side of my face. Later, it was determined I had Multiple Sclerosis. That moment changed everything - you don't realize how much you want insurance until you can't have it.

I've seen a young family member battle cancer and had to be off work for almost a year. They were fortunate to have good benefits and a supportive spouse. I've worked with a client, who was a single parent, who passed away from cancer in their forties, leaving behind two young children.

These situations were mostly unpreventable and undeniably difficult. We can't prevent the difficulty and the grief, but we can put proper planning and insurance in place to prevent a difficult situation from becoming a catastrophic financial one.

What Our Clients Say

  • Four young adults gathered around a laptop at a meeting table, smiling and looking at the screen, with two paintings hanging on the wall behind them.

"Ashton and I can highly recommend Callum. He is endlessly patient and guided us through a very stressful time. We completely trust his advice and know we can call on him to answer all of our questions in a very timely manner. We are learning a great deal about smart money management from him and look forward to working with him for many years to come. He came to us through the recommendation of a close friend of ours and we feel very fortunate to have found him.!" Margorie

  • Three people sitting at a white table in a bright office, engaging in a discussion. The office has large windows with buildings outside.
